Hedron Quick Start
Prerequisites:
- None!
Goals:
- Understand how to get started with Hedron
Hedron is all about customizability and making your experience your own. To do that, we offer a variety of tools for all kinds of players and homebrewers.
Before we get started, let's go over the basics of Hedron.
In short, everything related to the mechanics of a system falls under a Ruleset Context. Either you could pick a TTM official ruleset, any publicly visible ruleset, or build your own (more on this later)!
And while TTM has official terms for each entity type (Ability, Class, Feat, Item, Heritage, Spell), Ruleset creators can completely rename all of the navigational links and entity names.
Any time you load a page that loads Ruleset-specific information, you'll see a dialog of which Ruleset you’re interested in – if you don’t have one set already. If you have an account, you can also set your default Ruleset in your user settings.
Meanwhile, Worldbuilding information is largely contained in Books and Calendars/Timelines, which are contained in a Lore Context.
At any time, from any page, you can also use the “Search Everything” bar to try and find what you’re looking for instantly.
But note that if you have a set Context, your results will be limited to stuff in your context. For example, if you have a Lore Context, you'll only see calendars, timelines, and other worldbuilding information from the same Lore Context. Similarly, for Rule Systems, you'll only see rules content for your rule system.
For example, here, I'm only finding search results for "fire" related to the "Call to Power Ruleset" — not results from, say, Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition:
Aside from that general information, what kind of information you need will vary depending on your needs.
